Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau Launches
360° Interactive Tour Site for Meeting & Event Planners

The Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau (BMCVB) has launched a new site that provides 360-degree, interactive, virtual tours of area meeting spaces so that meeting and event planners can tour the locations from afar.

“Ideally we would be hosting these planners in person, but with the state of things currently, that is not as easy as it once was,” said Sheri Grossman, BMCVB CEO. “Many have had their budgets for site visits cut so we wanted to find a way to reach those planners who are ready now, or will be ready soon, to plan that next meeting or event. Our goal was to find an avenue to showcase our community and make it easy for planners to consider us for their next meeting or event. Partnering with Be More Colorful was the perfect way.”

Matthew Chaussee, CEO/Co-Founder of Be More Colorful, LLC, said, "360-degree imagery provides new opportunities to familiarize people with destinations, particularly when they can't tour in person. An interactive 360-degree tour affords viewers the opportunity to explore a location virtually, eliminating the time, geographic and financial limitations of on-site visits. The media's ease of use and immersive nature is particularly adept at informing viewers about travel/tourism experiences and for addressing related economic development questions. We're honored to be working with the Bismarck-Mandan CVB on their virtual tour to promote the Bismarck-Mandan community!"

In a typical year, the community hosts 500 multi-day meeting and events, drawing over 378,000 attendees that spend an estimated $32.6 million dollars locally. The BMCVB knows how important visitors are to the local economy and have been looking for new ways to make selecting Bismarck-Mandan easier.

The 360-degree virtual tours that have been created will provide meeting and event planners with the information and confidence that they need to select Bismarck-Mandan for their meetings and events. On the site, not only will they see the main meeting areas that the sites provide, but they will see room capacity charts, images of rooms set various ways and access to reach the BMCVB Sales Team with one click. Grossman added, “The meeting and event world has changed forever. Our customers are looking for a more digital approach to seeking out potential meeting and event locations. This is a significant step towards reaching that audience.”

“The sites that we chose to focus on first are our Bismarck Event Center, full-service hotels, North Dakota Heritage Center, Belle Mehus Auditorium, Starion Sports Complex and Capital Ice Complex. Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park and the State Capitol already have some imagery captured that we can utilize, and we hope to add to our list as our budget allows,” Grossman said.
